Liu Kang is the direct descendent of Kung Lao, an Order of Light monk who defeated Goro 500 years ago. Liu defeated Shang Tsung at the first tournament, sending him back to the Outworld a disgrace. When Liu returned home to his temple, he found it in ruins. Shao Kahn had sent an army, led by Kintaro and Baraka, to murder all of Liu Kangs fellow monks. Now Liu will travel into the dark realm of Outworld with one purpose...revenge.
